The autumn in Korea begins with the beautiful tinge of the mountain foliage.

The Bukhansan National Park is a rare natural park found in the northern area of Seoul.

Considered as the 'lungs' of Seoul, this park is also a living natural, historical, and cultural museum.

Although the rugged and rocky granite peaks of Bukhansan are climbed by millions of visitors each year,

there are also easy traversable 'dulle-gils' that can be used from within the city.

Today, we will take a look at a hiking trail called 'Section 3 Huingureum-Gil'.

The 'dulle-gils' are easy to walk on as they are fairly flat and connect with the village roads.

Many people come to the park to not only connect with nature but also to stay healthy.

Bukhansan is teeming with large and small valleys.

'Ppallaegol' is one of these valleys.

The clear water that flows down the valley washes away the exhaustion from the hikers.

With the 'Ppallaegol' behind you, if you pass the 'Gureum' Bridge over the stream,

you will come upon a steep mountain pass.

For the ambassador couple who climbed 'Baegundae', the highest peak at Bukhansan, this is an easy hike.

They have finally reached the main attraction of Huingureum-Gil, the 'Gureum Observatory'.

At the observatory where you can see the entirety of Seoul,

the beautiful peaks of Bukhansan and other mountains of Seoul spread out like a scene in a folding screen.

Buddhist temples can be found on almost any mountain in Korea.

Bukhansan Mountain has over 30 temples.

The Hwagyesa Temple is a famous location where foreign monks practice Buddhism.

Even if you aren't Buddhist, it is still a good place to heal yourself.

Sometimes, you can also gain life lessons from the monks.
